Newly inaugurated Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd.), has pledged to work with all stakeholders to restore peace, security, and stability in the state.

Speaking on Wednesday at his inauguration at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Ibas acknowledged the challenges that led to his appointment and emphasized the need to prioritize law and order.

“Mr. President made it very clear in his broadcast. If the main issue is maintaining law and order in the state, then that is the utmost task. I have to work together with all stakeholders to ensure that we bring peace, order, security, and stability to the people and government of Rivers State and Nigeria at large,” Ibas stated.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibas as the sole administrator of Rivers State following the political crisis in the state.

Western Post reported that President Tinubu also suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for an initial period of six months.
