The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, alongside the CEOs of major Nigerian airlines for a week-long engagement with Boeing. The visit, which follows an invitation from Boeing, will also include a trip to Seattle, Washington.

In a statement released by Obafemi Bajomo, the Special Adviser to the Minister, it was revealed that this strategic visit is set to culminate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Working Together Agreement (WTA) between Boeing and Nigeria in the coming days. The agreements aim to foster a new era of cooperation to improve the operational efficiency, safety, and business practices of Nigerian airlines.

The anticipated partnership is also expected to provide Nigerian airlines with access to Boeing’s technical resources, training in airline operations, and opportunities to acquire new or used Boeing aircraft, enhancing the overall growth and competitiveness of the Nigerian aviation sector.
