JUST IN: Nigerian film producer Kayode Peters dies in Canada

Renowned Nigerian film and stage producer, Kayode Peters, has passed away. He reportedly died in Canada, although the circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be confirmed.
Popular comedian and broadcaster, Steve Onu, popularly known as Yaw, confirmed the news on Saturday. “I am still trying to speak with his brother, but he is not picking up,” Yaw told People’s Gazette, expressing shock over the sudden demise.
Kayode Peters was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, particularly in contemporary theatre and television. He was widely celebrated for his stage productions and sitcoms, including the popular Extended Family and the long-running hit comedy Flatmates.
Peters’ contributions to the growth of stage drama and television comedy in Nigeria were widely acknowledged by fans and industry peers alike.
