JUST IN: Osun governor Adeleke resigns PDP membership

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor, in a letter addressed to the chairman of PDP Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Ede, dated November 4, 2025, said his decision was a result of the ongoing national leadership crisis within the party.
According to the letter titled “Resignation of My Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”, he wrote:
“Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party with immediate effect.
“I thank the Peoples Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a senator (representing Osun West) and as governor of Osun State under the Peoples Democratic Party.”
It would be recalled that the state chairman of the PDP, Sunday Bisi, on Monday disclosed that the governor would not be seeking the party’s ticket for re-election due to the unresolved national leadership crisis.
