JUST IN: PDP postpones Ekiti guber primary
By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its Ekiti State Congress and governorship primary earlier scheduled for November 8, 2025.
In a letter dated November 6, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party attributed the postponement to logistics challenges that, according to it, constrained the planned exercise.
The letter, jointly signed by the Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammed, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu, assured that a new date would be announced once arrangements were finalised.
“We wish to inform you that the PDP Ekiti State Congress and Governorship primary slated for November 8, 2025, has been postponed due to logistics reasons constraining this exercise. A new date will be formally communicated when decided,” the letter read in part.
The party also referenced an earlier correspondence with INEC on the same matter, noting that the commission would be duly informed of future developments.
The notice, received by INEC on Thursday, bears the acknowledgement stamp of the electoral body’s chairman’s office.
