JUST IN: Shehu Sani, Mimiko, Anyim, others defect to APC

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday announced the defection of over 17 top political figures to its ranks.

The list of defectors includes former Senator Shehu Sani, ex-Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko, and former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, who have officially joined the APC, marking a significant political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The high-profile defections coincide with the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which is currently underway.

Sources within the party suggest that the move is part of a strategy to consolidate political power and expand the APC’s influence nationwide.
