President Bola Tinubu has departed Lagos for Accra, Ghana, to attend the inauguration of Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama.
The president left Lagos via the presidential wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 4:10 p.m. on Monday.
Western Post reported that the trip follows an invitation from Mahama, who met with President Tinubu in Abuja last month.
President-elect Mahama is scheduled to be sworn in on January 7.
Mahama, who previously served as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017, was reelected in December 2024 and will succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo, whose tenure ends this year.
