By Kunle Sanni –

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 73-member Central Coordination Committee to oversee preparations for its 2026 National Convention, appointing the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as chairman.

Uzodimma, who also serves as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), will lead the high-powered committee inaugurated by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as part of early arrangements for the convention.

The Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was named vice chairman of the committee, while the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, will serve as secretary.

The committee draws its membership from across the party’s leadership structure, including serving governors, former governors, federal and state lawmakers, ministers and other senior party stakeholders, reflecting the APC’s effort to ensure broad-based coordination ahead of the convention.

In a statement issued by the party and signed by the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the APC said details regarding the inauguration and date of the 2026 National Convention would be announced in due course.

The establishment of the Central Coordination Committee signals the formal commencement of internal processes leading to the APC’s 2026 National Convention, a key event expected to shape the party’s leadership and strategic direction ahead of future electoral contests.
