Justice commissioner dismisses allegations of imposition in Ondo APC primaries

The Ondo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, has dismissed allegations that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa influenced the outcome of the ongoing All Progressives Congress primaries in the state.
Ajulo, in a statement issued on Thursday in Akure, described the accusations as false, malicious and lacking credible evidence.
The Attorney General said the claims were being driven by politicians disappointed by the outcome of the party’s internal process rather than by verifiable facts.
According to him, the APC primaries were conducted through consultations and consensus arrangements permitted under the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act 2022.
He stated that candidates emerged after extensive engagements involving stakeholders and party leaders across the 18 LGAs of the state.
Ajulo maintained that the process reflected internal democracy and was aimed at preventing divisions within the party ahead of the election.
The commissioner also warned that the government would not ignore what he described as deliberate attempts to spread falsehood against the governor and the state government.
He urged aggrieved aspirants and party members to seek redress through the APC’s internal mechanisms while calling on residents to remain united and support the administration’s governance agenda.
