Kaduna governor reopens Kidandan market in Giwa LG

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has reopened the Kidandan Market in Giwa Local Government Area.

The Kidandan market had been closed for several years due to security concerns.

The Governor described the reopening as a significant step toward restoring peace and stability in the area.

The reopening of Kidandan Market follows the recent resumption of activities at the Birnin Gwari Livestock Market, closed for nearly a decade.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Sani Liman Kila, the Governor emphasised peace as the cornerstone of progress and development.

He called on residents to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and a non-violent approach to issues confronting them.

The governor assured the community of his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace through dialogue and collaboration with security agencies.

Chairman of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee, Sheikh Yusuf Musa Asadussunah, commended the progress achieved through dialogue, including the disarmament of senior bandit leaders and their followers.

He also urged the government to review the cases of detainees, to ensure that innocent individuals are released.
