Kano police warn of terrorist threats, deploy units to ensure public safety

The Kano State Police Command has issued a warning to residents of the state about potential terrorist attacks targeting public gatherings in strategic locations.
The alert, based on intelligence reports, was announced in a statement signed by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer.
In response to the threat, the Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has advised residents to exercise caution and avoid crowded areas as a preventive measure.
To bolster security, the Command has deployed experts from its Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) units to strategic locations. These units are on high alert to detect and neutralize any potential threats.
The statement also expressed gratitude to the people of Kano for their cooperation and support.
“We remain resolute in our duty to ensure public safety and call on all residents to stay alert and collaborate with security agencies to protect our communities,” the statement read.
In concluding, the police command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and maintaining law and order across the state.
