kidnappers attempted to abduct traditional ruler but ended up taking away police orderly
A police orderly attached to the paramount ruler of the Rumu-Elechi community in Port Harcourt, HRH Cornwell Ihunwo, has been abducted.
Godstime Ihunwo, Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Orowurokwo and executive member of Diobu Vigilante, reported that he got a call around 9 p.m. on Saturday regarding the kidnapping.
He said that although the kidnappers had intended to take the traditional ruler hostage, they ultimately abducted the police sergeant and driver.
The Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident. He said the case has been transferred to the Octopus Strike Force Police unit for investigation.
