Koffi, Adetoun demand arrest of TikToker King Mitchy over ‘fake’ suicide stunt

Comedian Koffi and human rights activist Adetoun Onabanjo have called for the arrest of TikToker King Mitchy over what they described as staged suicide attempts during her live broadcasts.
The demand follows an ongoing social media dispute between Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and King Mitchy. The controversy began after she questioned the handling of donations allegedly made towards VeryDarkMan’s proposed NGO school projects, triggering a heated exchange between the two influencers.
During the feud, King Mitchy was accused of staging her death and appearing to ingest a harmful substance during two separate live streams. She later released a statement claiming she had been admitted to a hospital in Abuja following the incidents. However, the hospital reportedly denied having any record of her admission.
The development sparked widespread backlash on social media, with many users expressing concern over the possible impact of such content on young audiences.
Reacting to the incident, Koffi said, “This young lady that has been having issues with VeryDarkMan, I want her to be arrested immediately. I don’t care what their issue is or what they are dragging. What she has come on camera to do is setting the tone and pace for a future we cannot control.
“She is sending a signal to a lot of young people, and it is something we must curb immediately. A lot of people do not know that attempting suicide is a crime, and what she has done is terrible in all regards.”
In a separate move, Adetoun also called for King Mitchy’s arrest, insisting that she should be taken off social media as a deterrent to others who might attempt similar actions.
The activist disclosed that she had alerted operatives of the Rapid Response Squad and the office of the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, and had also escalated the matter to the Nigeria Police Force through its official Instagram page.
