Kwara APC won’t impose candidates on electorate, says chairman

By Mosunmola Ayobami, Kwara
All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagebmi said the leadership of the party will not force or anoint any candidate on the electorate in the coming general elections.
Fagbemi, while addressing party stalwarts during a stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, noted that while zoning and rotation brings about unity, equality and fairness, the leader of the party, Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRasaq would create a level playing ground during the primaries, adding that no imposition of candidates would be allowed.
It would be recalled that at a meeting of the party in the local government on Friday, 29th April, 2022, the member representing the zone in the state House of Assembly, was alleged to have sponsored some thugs and instigated the LGA chairman to make pronouncement that he is the consensus candidate of the party.
He warned members in the area to be weary of fake reports and news that the party has endorsed or reached a consensus to adopt any candidate for any position for the election.
