The Kwara State Commissioner for Environment, Nafisat Buge, has criticized some commercial motor parks for violating the state’s sanitation laws by operating during designated sanitation hours. She urged them to respect the laws and called on residents across the state to strictly adhere to the sanitation regulations.

The monthly sanitation exercise, held on Saturday across all sixteen local government areas of Kwara State, saw environmental offenders arrested and taken before mobile courts.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Dr. Abubakar Ayinla, the Permanent Secretary who represented Commissioner Buge, reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to maintain a clean and green environment for all.

Buge extended her appreciation to security agencies and numerous volunteers for their active role in ensuring a smooth sanitation process.

Officials visited various areas within Ilorin, including Baboko, Surulere, General, Sawmill, Gari-Alimi, Asa-Dam, Odota, Olorunsogo, Yebumot Roundabout, and Adeta Roundabout, among others, as part of the exercise.
