Kwara governor, others pay tribute to former HoS, Susan Oluwole

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described the late former Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, as an exemplary leader whose life was defined by diligence, integrity, and unwavering service to the people.
Speaking at a wake keep ceremony held in her honour at the State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, on Thursday, the governor noted Mrs. Oluwole’s death was not only a loss to her family but also to the civil service and the entire state.
Represented by his Deputy, Elder Kayode Alabi, Governor AbdulRazaq praised the late bureaucrat’s professionalism, wisdom, and deep sense of responsibility.

“Her impact on the civil service remains indelible, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come,” the governor said, as he extended condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and associates. “I hope you find comfort in the knowledge that she was deeply respected and her contributions will never be forgotten.”
Also speaking, a former Head of Service in the state, Alhaji Salman Adelodun Ibrahim, described Mrs. Oluwole—fondly called Dupe—as a loyal, enthusiastic, and dedicated public servant. According to him, her seven-year tenure in office contributed significantly to reforms in the state’s civil service. “She was a go-getter, principled, humble, and always had vital information at her fingertips,” he disclosed.

Chairman of the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries, Prince Ayo Fagbemi, described the late Oluwole as a true embodiment of professionalism and a role model to many. He noted that her recent retirement was expected to usher in a period of rest and further impact, making her passing especially painful. “Her leadership was guided by the fear of God, equity, justice, and fair play. Her tenure was marked by reforms and a commitment to professional growth,” Fagbemi said.
Former classmates and friends, including Adefunke Oyinloye (FCIA), President of the Class of ’82 at Saint Clare’s Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Offa, and Mrs. Opeyemi Oladipupo, also paid glowing tributes to the late Oluwole, highlighting her brilliance, virtues, and commitment to excellence.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Barrister Rotimi Bello thanked Governor AbdulRazaq and others for their support during and after her lifetime. Stating that she would be remembered for her dedication to family unity, he prayed for God’s strength for the family in this period of mourning.
