Kwara Govt closes Post Office-Emir’s Road for upgrade, diverts traffic

The Kwara State Government has announced the immediate closure of Post Office-Emir’s Road for rehabilitation and upgrade, starting Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

The project is part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s ongoing urban renewal efforts aimed at improving road infrastructure and boosting the state’s economic growth.

According to a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, Olajide Abolarin, the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of residents and motorists during the rehabilitation period. The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, urged road users to seek alternative routes to ease traffic congestion.

Motorists traveling from Maraba are advised to use the Post Office Flyover, while those coming from Offa Garage should opt for Zulu Gambari Road. Travelers approaching from Taiwo Road are encouraged to take Wahab Folawiyo Unity Road to reach their destinations.

The government apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and sought public cooperation during the period. Road users are also advised to adhere to traffic instructions and exercise caution in the area.

The rehabilitation project is expected to contribute to better road conditions and smoother travel in the future.
