Kwara gov’t closes Post Office-Emir’s Road for upgrade, diverts traffic

The Kwara State Government has announced the immediate closure of Post Office-Emir’s Road to facilitate rehabilitation and upgrade works as part of the state’s ongoing urban renewal project.

The road closure is aimed at improving road networks and boosting economic activities across the state.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdulqawiy Olododo, the government urged road users to cooperate by using alternative routes during the period of the upgrade.

According to Olododo, the road closure is necessary to ensure the safety of residents and facilitate smooth travel once the work is completed. Motorists from Maraba are advised to use the Post Office Flyover, while vehicles coming from Offa Garage should take Zulu Gambari Road as an alternative route.

The commissioner apologized for the inconvenience the closure may cause and appealed for the understanding of the public.

“We seek the cooperation of road users during this period and urge motorists to follow traffic directives and exercise caution in the affected areas,” the statement concluded.
