The Kwara State Government has received N349,650,000 from the Office of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to support the production of a movie that promotes local institutions, values, and culture, free from lewd scenes or language.
The donation fulfills the First Lady’s pledge made during her visit to the Sugar Film Factory on January 29, 2025, where she praised the quality of the facility and offered support for a movie project that highlights Nigerian values and culture.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology (BIT), Hon. Damilola Yusuf-Adelodun, in Ilorin on Tuesday.
“On behalf of our administration and the people of the state, I thank Her Excellency for this unique support for one of our iconic projects and especially for her commitment to the growth of our institutions and cultural values,” the statement read.
“This is a significant investment in the future of our communities, as it preserves our distinct culture and value system. It is a symbolic effort to safeguard our culture and values.
“We are deeply grateful to Her Excellency for believing in our dream and the capacity of the Sugar Film Factory to succeed,” the statement added.
