Kwara House of Assembly passes increased 2025 appropriation bill

The Kwara State House of Assembly has increased the size of the 2025 budget by over forty-eight billion naira, bringing the total revised budget to six hundred and thirty-two billion, seven hundred and one million, five hundred and twenty-one thousand, eight hundred and one naira.
This was contained in the report of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation on the Revised and Supplementary Appropriation Bill for the year 2025, presented on the floor of the House at today’s plenary.
According to the Chairperson of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation and lawmaker representing Ilorin East Constituency, Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, the revised recurrent revenue now stands at four hundred and seventy-one billion, five hundred and sixty-eight million, three hundred and nineteen thousand, three hundred and five naira — an increase of more than seventy-one billion naira from the earlier approved figure.
On the expenditure side, the revised recurrent expenditure is put at two hundred and three billion, forty-eight million, fifty-three thousand, seven hundred and eighty-one naira, showing a slight reduction of about two-point-two billion naira compared to the earlier projection.
The revised capital expenditure is now pegged at four hundred and twenty-nine billion, six hundred and fifty-three million, four hundred and sixty-eight thousand and twenty naira, reflecting an increase of more than fifty billion naira over the earlier approved figure for the fiscal year.
Presenting the report, the Chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, expressed gratitude to the House for the opportunity to serve, alongside Deputy Chairman, Honourable Mohammed Kareem Musa, and other committee members.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engineer Yakubu Danladi Salihu, thereafter directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the revised budget for onward transmission to the Governor for assent.
