The Kwara State Ministry of Justice generated N689.3 million from contract agreement vetting between January and March 2025.

The revenue was remitted to the state’s coffers through the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, according to the Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Ibrahim Sulyman, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Barrister Kikelomo Grillo.

He disclosed this at the fourth edition of the inter-ministerial press briefing held at the Ministry of Finance in Ilorin on Tuesday.

“From January to March this year, the Ministry of Justice generated N689,342,095 from contract agreement vetting,” he said.

He added that 43 contract agreements were vetted during the period under the Directorate of Legal Drafting.

In the criminal division, the ministry received 437 cases, concluded 47, while 387 are pending. For civil litigation, 32 cases were received, six concluded, and 24 are ongoing.

Commissioner for Communications, Ms. Bolanle Olukoju, who chaired the event, said the initiative promotes transparency and accountability in government.

She announced that the ministry would launch a live radio programme in May titled “My Kwara”, which will allow citizens to ask questions about government activities.
