Kwara: Sports council boss Mogaji commends state cycling team

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, has praised the state’s cycling team for their impressive performance at the recently concluded Lagos Cycling Crits competition.

While receiving the team in his office, Mogaji commended the medalists, Sulaiman Hikmat Opeyemi and AbdulRazaq Oladayo Falilat, who won gold and silver medals, respectively, in the Junior Girls Criterium event.

He acknowledged cycling as one of the high-performing sports under the Commission and encouraged the team’s coach to adopt advanced training methods to further enhance the athletes’ performance.

Mogaji also urged the male athletes to intensify their efforts to compete more effectively in future competitions.

The Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, also lauded the team, noting that their achievements had brought pride to the Commission.

The team’s coach, Lawal Lukman, and the secretary, Junad Azeez, expressed gratitude to the Commission for its continued support, which they said played a significant role in the team’s success.
