Kwara transporters denounce participation in national protest, reiterate support for Gov Abdulrazaq

The coalition of all transporters’ associations in Kwara State, comprising the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), National Association of Cooperative Transporters (NACT), and Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), has declared that they will not participate in the planned national protest.

In a public declaration made on Sunday, the associations reiterated their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. They described the planned protest as harmful and capable of causing further havoc and suffering.

The Chairman of MOUN, Mallam AbdulAzeez Yakub, stated that the Governor has restored peace to Kwara State through various developmental programs and a people-oriented leadership style, and they will not allow anyone to disrupt the harmonious existence in the state.

“We are gathered here today to declare that we are not in any way participating in the planned national protest. We are confident in the efforts being put in place by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that the national economy is stabilized. Moreover, our Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has done so well in ensuring peaceful coexistence in Kwara. He has maintained a people-oriented leadership, involving us all in his administration. We will not be part of any attempt to disrupt his administration,” AbdulAzeez said.

He concluded, “We outrightly reject any evil protest and will continue to support the administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who has proved to be a father to all in every aspect.”

The transporters’ coalition emphasized their commitment to sustaining peace and supporting the ongoing developmental efforts in Kwara State, pledging their loyalty to the current administration.
