Labour Party sacks national publicity secretary, dissolves Ogun excos

Labour Party on Friday sacked its National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, and dissolved its Ogun State chapter executives for alleged anti-party practice.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party took the decision during an emergency meeting in Abuja, following the alleged expulsion of Dr Doyin Okupe, the Director General of Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council.
National Secretary of Labour Party, Umar Farouk, announced the dissolution of its Ogun State chapter and the removal of Arabambi.
Farouk said the NWC passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of its embattled National Chairman, Julius Abure, saying members reviewed the corruption allegations levelled against him and found him not culpable.
Okupe and 10 members of the party were removed by the leadership of the Ogun State chapter over alleged “non-financial membership status, political rascality and misappropriation of funds.”
