Ladigbolu backs Tinubu’s reforms, urges Nigerians to endure for prosperity

By Boye Oyeyemi –

Retired Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, urging Nigerians to endure the current hardship as the country transitions from adversity to prosperity.

Speaking at the Southwest Stakeholders Dialogue in Akure, Ladigbolu said the nation was paying the price for years of dependence on subsidies and unproductive economic practices.

He noted that Tinubu’s policies, which he described as “Asiwajunomics,” could transform the economy if properly implemented and supported by citizens.

“If we do not repeat the experiences of 2012, our endurance and patience this time can yield great dividends,” he said.

The Yoruba Unity Forum Chairman listed potential benefits of the reforms, including improved electricity supply, stronger local production, and reduced corruption.

He added that the measures would also make government more accountable and enhance public trust.

Ladigbolu urged the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the National Orientation Agency to educate citizens on the implications of new tax laws, warning that ignorance could breed unnecessary tension.

The cleric, however, expressed optimism that the country would soon experience a turnaround, saying, “After darkness, light will shine again.”
