Ladoja cautions Ibadan chiefs, vows no tolerance for insecurity

By Adejayan Gbenga –

The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has declared that Mogajis (family heads) and Baales (village heads) will henceforth be held accountable for any security breaches in their respective domains.

Ladoja gave the warning at the weekend while hosting scores of Mogajis and Baales at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.

In a statement signed on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Solomon Olugbemiga Ayoade, the former Oyo State governor stressed that traditional title holders are the “chief security officers” in their areas and must take responsibility for peace and order.

“You are the chief security officers in your domains, and as such, you will be held responsible for any security lapse in your areas. You should know what is happening in your environment, and if you have any challenge beyond your control, contact us — we will assist you immediately,” Ladoja said.

He urged the Mogajis and Baales to remain vigilant and promptly report any activity that could threaten security to law enforcement agencies.

The Olubadan-designate also pledged to attract investors to Ibadan and other parts of Oyo State, stressing that his administration would not tolerate any security lapses capable of discouraging investment.
