Ladoja to chair 2025 World Egungun Festival

Former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will chair the 2025 World Egungun Festival.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, during a recent courtesy visit to the monarch’s residence in Ibadan.
Dr. Olatunbosun said the visit was to formally inform the revered traditional leader of the Ministry’s plans and seek his consent to chair the festival, while also soliciting his royal blessings.
He noted that the World Egungun Festival remains a significant cultural event that attracts participants and visitors from across the globe.
Reaffirming its commitment to promoting cultural values, unity, and tourism, the Ministry expressed optimism for a successful and impactful celebration.
The Commissioner, on behalf of the Ministry, thanked Oba Ladoja for his warm reception and willingness to play a key role in the event, which celebrates the rich heritage and traditions of the Yoruba people.
In response, Oba Ladoja graciously accepted the invitation to serve as Chairman and Royal Father of the Day at the grand celebration.
