Ladoke Akintola’s grandson, Akinwunmi, elected Ikoyi Club Chairman

Akinwunmi Akintola, grandson of the late Premier of the Western Region, Chief Ladoke Akintola, has been elected as the Chairman of the prestigious Ikoyi Club.

Akintola secured a landslide victory in the election held on Thursday, defeating his closest rival, real estate mogul M.I. Okoro, with a margin of over 1,000 votes. He polled 1,547 votes, while Okoro garnered 487 votes.

In the race for Vice Chairman, Bolaji Martins emerged victorious with 578 votes, narrowly beating Ayo Ogunyinka, who secured 567 votes.

Other contenders included Bolaji Ayorinde (361 votes), Soga Odumabo (349 votes), and Yomi Benson (138 votes).
