Lafarge Africa Reports N62.24bn Profit Before Tax in 2021

Lafarge Africa Plc on Tuesday announced N62.24billion profit before tax in its audited result and accounts for period ended December 31, 2021.

The cement manufacturing company profit before tax appreciated by 66 per cent when compared to N37.57billion reported in 2020.

The Group reported 27.1 per cent increase in revenue to N293.09 billion in 2021 from N230.57billion reported in 2020.

The management of Lafarge Africa proposed a final dividend of 100 kobo per unit of 50 Kobo ordinary share.

The CEO of Lafarge Africa, Khaled El Dokani, in a statement said “Our 2021 performance showed significant improvement, with net sales of +27.1per cent, recurring EBIT of +42.6per cent and net income of +65.4per cent, compared to FY 2020 results.

“We are equally pleased with the progress we are making on sustainability; our use of affordable clean energy and agro-ecology footprint are in accordance with our net zero pledge journey”.

On outlook for 2022, the company said it expected good demand momentum.

“We will continue to maximize volume opportunities across our markets and actively manage our costs. We will consolidate our efforts on Sustainability,” the company added in its 2022 goals.
