LAGFERRY promotes tourism with Michael movie screening on Lagos waterways

The Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) has restated its commitment to promoting tourism, entertainment and water transportation culture with a movie viewing experience aboard the Adimu Orisha Barge on the Lagos waterways.
The event, organised in collaboration with Wave Media and tagged “Cinema and Cruise,” featured a screening of Michael, a film based on the life and legacy of American pop icon Michael Jackson. It attracted movie enthusiasts, stakeholders, passengers and other guests for an evening of entertainment on the water.
Set against the Lagos coastline, the experience combined leisure with water transport, highlighting the waterways as not only a means of movement but also a destination for recreation and social activities.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of LAGFERRY, Hon. Ladi Balogun, said the initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to innovation in public transportation and tourism promotion across the state.
He noted that the project is part of efforts to build public confidence in water transport while expanding lifestyle and entertainment opportunities on the Lagos waterways.
“The movie viewing experience aboard the Adimu Orisha Barge reflects our vision of redefining commuting and leisure through safe, enjoyable and customer-focused water transportation services. There is absolutely no social event you can do on land that you cannot do on the waterways,” he said.
Guests were treated to music, networking opportunities and panoramic night views of Lagos, further positioning the waterways as an emerging hub for entertainment and relaxation.
