Lagos agency arrests 24 for not using pedestrian bridge

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has arrested 24 persons for crossing the highway and not using the pedestrian bridge at the Oshodi Oke and Onipanu bus stops.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources,Tokunbo Wahab, made this known on Thursday in a post via his X handle.

The Commissioner who added some video clips of the offenders to his post, revealed they had been taken to court for prosecution.

Reacting to the development, some X users however registered their displeasure over the way the alleged offenders were treated, while others believed the move would not stand the test of time.

X user @akin_malaolu wrote: “Dear Commissioner, please sir, can your office set aside just a day in the week for on-field education of offenders without taking them to Court?

“Will be grateful if it meets with your criteria.”

Another X user @kingin_02 wrote: “Oju Aye! Lagos is still lacking behind on many levels. After next year they will stop this.”
