Lagos gets new Commissioner of Police

The Police Service Commission has approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command. The appointment was confirmed on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Before his new role, CP Jimoh served as Commissioner of Police at the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports. He hails from Kwara State and has held several prominent positions in the Nigeria Police Force, including Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Airport Police, and Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration.
His extensive training includes combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, participation in the African Union Mission in Darfur, and specialized courses in counter-terrorism, maritime rescue, and anti-hijacking tactics across institutions in the United States, China, and South Korea.
CP Jimoh is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, awarded by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for his contributions to advancing public relations in the force.
The Police Service Commission’s approval of his appointment was overseen by its chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hashimu Argungu, retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu.
CP Jimoh is expected to bring his wealth of experience and leadership to the Lagos State Command, one of Nigeria’s most strategic police jurisdictions.
