Lagos Christian, Muslim Welfare Boards promote office farming

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has made a remarkable achievement by successfully harvesting its office farming produce, setting a great example for others to follow.

The initiative was inspired by the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu to promote self-sufficiency, eco-friendly practices, and team bonding during the 2024 National Women’s Conference.

At the harvest ceremony, Board Secretary, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe expressed her joy and encouraged other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to adopt office farming.

She urged everyone to engage in farming activities, regardless of their educational background or occupation.

The Secretary also stated that the harvested produce will be shared among staff and neighbouring offices, demonstrating the board’s commitment to staff welfare and community well-being.

The presence of Board Secretary of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB), Saheed Onipede, highlighted the importance of interfaith collaboration and knowledge sharing in promoting sustainable development.

Onipede said, “The success of this initiative has inspired the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to start their farming project as well.”
