Lagos disburses financial aid to 152 residents

Lagos State Government has extended financial assistance to 152 residents as part of the ongoing Sanwo-Olu Cares, Sanwo-Olu Listens initiative aimed at mitigating the socio-economic challenges faced by the populace.

The presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, where beneficiaries received varying sums ranging from ₦400,000 to ₦1.5 million, tailored according to individual needs.

Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, stated that the programme is designed to provide direct support to vulnerable Lagosians and improve their living conditions.

He advised beneficiaries to exercise prudence in the utilization of the funds to ensure sustainable improvements in their livelihoods.

Dr. Afolabi reiterated the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to cushion the impact of prevailing economic difficulties and emphasized that the disbursement exercise is being conducted in phases across all 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.

Recipients of the assistance, including traders, farmers, senior citizens, and persons living with disabilities, expressed their profound gratitude to the governor for the initiative and called for its continuation in future administrations.
