The Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday celebrated President Bola Tinubu’s 73rd birthday with thanksgiving services and prayers at religious centres across the state, including the Chapel of Christ the Light and the Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque, Alausa.

Governor Sanwo-Olu led the Christian service at the Chapel of Christ the Light, while his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, led the special birthday prayer at the mosque. Both venues were filled with government officials, political leaders, religious figures, and traditional rulers honoring the former Lagos governor, now Nigeria’s President.

Speaking at the service, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for President Tinubu’s leadership and legacy, praying for his continued health, wisdom, and strength. He praised Tinubu’s transformative impact on Lagos and acknowledged his rise from Lagos governor to Nigeria’s 16th President.

Dr. Hamzat urged Nigerians to be patient and support President Tinubu’s policies aimed at reviving the economy. He noted that while tough decisions bring challenges, they are necessary for long-term progress. He also prayed for divine guidance for the President.

Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Ola Makinde, commended Tinubu’s reforms and infrastructural development efforts. He urged the President to seek divine wisdom in governance and remain fair to all Nigerians, regardless of ethnicity or religion.

The celebration was marked by prayers, hymns, and reflections on Tinubu’s contributions to Lagos and Nigeria. Religious leaders and dignitaries at the event emphasized the importance of unity and prayers for the nation’s progress.

Other religious centres across Lagos held similar thanksgiving services, underscoring the widespread recognition of Tinubu’s leadership. The event highlighted the deep political and spiritual support he enjoys in his home state.

The thanksgiving services concluded with calls for continued prayers for Nigeria’s prosperity, stability, and the success of President Tinubu’s administration.
