Lagos Police Commissioner praises IRS, says tactical unit stabilises state’s security

Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, has commended the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for their excellent work in policing the state.

During a recent visit to the RRS headquarters, the CP expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the professionalism, courage, sacrifice, and discipline of the RRS team.

“I have come to thank you for your sacrifice and that only God can continue to protect and reward the services you render to this state,” Owohunwa said.

The commissioner also praised the investments made by successive governments and the current administration in the RRS.

He acknowledged that the RRS played a significant role in stabilizing the state and ensuring the safety and security of residents.

The RRS management and members expressed their appreciation for the recognition, with the commissioner being urged to continue supporting their efforts.

In response, Owohunwa encouraged the team to work more and continue their excellent service to the state.

“The RRS has assisted me in stabilizing the state more than any other unit. They call you at any time, and you respond.

“I commend the successive governments and the current administration for the investments in RRS,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of the RRS in maintaining law and order in the state, emphasising the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of residents.
