Lagos Sports Commission launches digital facility booking platform
The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has introduced a digital facility booking platform to streamline access to state-owned sports facilities, enhancing efficiency and accessibility for athletes, corporate organizations, event managers, and sports enthusiasts.
The new platform allows users to browse available sports facilities, check real-time availability, and book reservations from the comfort of their homes or offices.
Among the facilities covered are Rowe Park Sports Centre, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Agege Stadium, and other LSSC-managed venues across Lagos.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Director General of LSSC, Mr. Lekan Fatodu, described the initiative as a transformative step toward promoting inclusivity and increasing public participation in sports.
“This platform is a game-changer for sports in Lagos State. It underscores our commitment to making our facilities more accessible and ensuring that the public benefits from the investments made in our infrastructure.
“By leveraging technology, we are creating a more efficient and transparent system for booking and utilizing our world-class facilities,” Fatodu stated.
The initiative aligns with the vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has prioritized sports development as a key pillar of his administration.
His leadership has driven significant investments in sports infrastructure, grassroots talent development, and youth engagement in sporting activities.
Fatodu further highlighted the governor’s commitment, stating that the administration is determined to make Lagos the sports capital of Africa through infrastructure development, talent nurturing, and innovative solutions like the new digital booking system.
The platform is also expected to enhance revenue generation for sports development while ensuring transparency and accountability in facility allocations.
