Lagos TESCOM applauds NGO initiatives on training of teachers

…Calls for greater collaborations

The Chairman, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Victoria Mopelola Peregrino has applauded the collaborative and support initiatives of Teach For Nigeria (TFN) in training and placement of teachers into public secondary schools across the State.

The Chairman gave the commendation at a meeting of officials of the NGO led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Molade Adeniji, with management of TESCOM in Ikeja.

Peregrino disclosed that the commission is ready to partner with non government organizations whose activities will impact positively on the education system of the state.

Responding, the CEO of the organization, Mrs Molade Adeniji said Teach For Nigeria is engaging with the Lagos State Government through the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) to strengthen partnerships and advance their shared goals of providing quality education to children in the State.

Mutually beneficial issues were discussed at the meeting especially the initiatives to involve TESCOM in the rigorous recruitment processes of the NGO and the prioritizing of subject needs of placing teachers in schools.
