Lagos unveils EPPPS for planning approvals, says ‘applicants must meet stipulated requirements’

The Lagos State Government has commenced the rollout of the Electronic Physical Planning Processing System (EPPPS) to digitise building and physical planning approvals across the state.
The initiative was announced at a stakeholders’ engagement at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, as part of the government’s sensitisation campaign on the platform.
Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Oluyinka Olumide, said the system would make approval processes more efficient, transparent and accessible to residents and developers.
He noted that applicants must meet stipulated requirements, including tax compliance, to access the platform.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Tpl. Wasiu Olayinka, urged built-environment professionals to embrace the system, describing it as a reform aimed at improving transparency, accountability and productivity.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Opeyemi Ogunbo, said the initiative aligned with the state’s drive for safe, orderly and sustainable development.
Professor Timothy Nubi, the guest lecturer, called for stronger collaboration among professionals and relevant agencies to ensure the successful implementation of the digital system.
