LAHASCOM promises to support Kebbi Assembly Service Commission in capacity building

The Acting Chairman of Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission (LAHASCOM), Richards Oshungboye has said the Commission would support the Kebbi State House of Assembly Commission ( HASC-KB) when the need arises.

Oshungboye made this known when the leadership of the Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission visited LAHASCOM on a study tour.

WesternPost reports that Mr Suru Umar led the Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission delegation to LAHASCOM.

He commended the leadership of the Commission for laying solid foundation for Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission.

Oshungboye said the legislative institution has lived up to the expectations of the people of Kebbi State.

He said “With the support of the House of Assembly led by our able Rt.Hon Speaker (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission shall always support and collaborate with the Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission and other commissions as the need arises.”

While assuring the delegation that LAHASCOM would be readily available to provide necessary support to ensure rapid development of Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission and other legislative assembly service commissions in the federation, LAHASCOM Chairman said lack of support for some legislative service commissions has impeded their growth and development.

According to Oshungboye, the role of the legislative service commissions all over the world is to support the legislative institutions and efforts must be made to ensure the institutions perform their functions effectively.

He explained further that for the Legislatures to really develop and function optimally, the legislative service commissions across the world would not relent in their core responsibilities of recruiting, training and capacity building, amongst other functions,

Umar while delivering his address, stated that the main purpose of the tour was to discuss and learn from LAHASCOM’s wealth of experience, being a pacesetter and the pioneer State Support Service Commission in Nigeria.

‘‘We have come to meet with the leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission with the view to tapping from her wealth of experience in form of providing fruitful guidance towards the development of the Kebbi State House of Assembly Service Commission,’’ Umar said.
