LASG impounds 55 motorcycles, arrests 13 riders,passengers


 
Fifty-five motorcycles, otherwise known as Okada have been impounded by the Lagos State government in continuation of the ban on their operations in six local governments and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The motorcycles were impounded on Friday, along with the arrest of 13 riders and passengers.
They were arrested by the state task force at Toyota bus stop on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway and the BRT Routes along the Abeokuta Expressway.
In a statement by the Senior Special assistant to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on New Media, Gawat Jubril, the arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by the state government to ensure the safety of Lagosians.
It would be recalled that Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a total ban on Okada operations in the six LGs and nine LCDAs, which took effect on June 1, 2022.
