LASG praises Nubi for finishing race in Lagos

Lagos State government has saluted the resilience and”can do” spirit of the Nigerian lady, Ms Pelumi Nubi, who drove solo from London to Lagos.
WesternPost reports that Nubi embarked on the journey since January 31st 2024 and arrived Lagos through the Seme border at about ten o’clock this morning.
Speaking with newsmen at the National Stadium area of Lagos, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, commended Nubi for achieving the landmark feat despite having accident during the solo trip.
The Special Adviser restated the commitment of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s administration to support youths with creative ideas to boost the tourism sector.

“ You can see that Lagos Tourism is really rising and rising. This is what we are talking about in terms of personality, you can see what Pelumi has also added to it. Am sure that. Am sure that Lagos will continue to lead with a lot of things . Am happy , I have a Governor a lot of hopes for tourism , that is why we are seeing a lot of works. I know this is not the last for Pelumi and we will continue to give her all the love and support she desires.”
While narrating her experiences on the solo trip, Ms Pelumi Nubi, expressed gratitude to God and Nigerians for the support given her during her live reportage of the solo trip.

Pelumi who spoke on some of challenges encountered during the trip, said she missed her family and loved ones.
“ The accident I had, to loneliness missing my family . Doing this by myself, remember this car has been solo driving. We go through the down and high side of life. Honestly just to showcase the continent of Africa that truly we can explore it more and showcase it to the world more.”
The mother of the travel creative content provider, Mrs Olubukola Nubi, who was visibly excited about her daughter’s achievement, advised youths to be focused and persevere to achieve whatever feat they set their minds up on to break the barrier of success.
The solo trip driver also visited the University of Lagos where her father lectures while the Lagos cultural troupes also entertained her on arrival at Seme border.
