LASG presents 10 cars, trip to Dubai, cash prizes to outstanding civil servants

Lagos State government has presented brand new cars, cash gifts in dollars and a return ticket to Dubai to ten civil servants for their outstanding service.
The presentation, which took place at Lagos Continental Hotel is in celebration of the year 2022 Outstanding Public Servants.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the event said Lagos public service has continued to raise the bar and rise up to expectations.
He said: “The Lagos State public service has continued to raise the bar and to rise up to the expectations of a fast-growing megacity with an enlightened and expectant population of over 22 million people.
“In the last three years of our administration, the State public service has shown great capacity, dedication and sense of professionalism. I will continue to refer, with a great sense of appreciation, to the commitment displayed by the public service, especially at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The heroic performance especially by the health personnel and other emergency service providers was truly outstanding. This administration, in recognition of all the diligent contributions from our public service, has always prioritized the issues of welfare and capacity-building. Our greatest strength as a State is our human resource base, of which the Public Service remains a key component.
“It is on this note that I heartily congratulate all of you who have been chosen as worthy recipients of the Year 2022 Outstanding Public Service Award. I have no doubt that you all have displayed sterling qualities, values and virtues of hard work, integrity, selflessness, and tenacity to be selected among your peers and colleagues for recognition.
“The best way to show gratitude for this award is to keep up the good work and continue to serve as good and noble Ambassadors of the Lagos State public service.”
Head of Service, Hakeem Muri- Okunola, said the luncheon was held to recognise and honour the best among civil servants as part of this year’s celebration of Lagos State Public Service Week, thanking the governor for prioritising the welfare of workers in the state.
He urged the 190 recipients of the best officers’ award not to rest on their oars but continue to exhibit high sense of responsibility, diligence, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty.
The awardees also promised to continue to work towards achieving the goals of the THEMES agenda.
Five junior and five senior staff were given brand new cars. Two senior staff got $2,000 each. One junior staff and another senior staff won trip to Dubai with return tickets.
