Late Alaafin’s son unveils activities for father’s fourth remembrance anniversary

The honorable member representing Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, has announced a series of activities to mark the fourth remembrance anniversary of his father, the late Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Adeyemi disclosed that the remembrance programme, themed “Gone But Not Forgotten,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 25, 2026, across selected communities in Oyo State.

As indicated in the statement, activities will commence at 9:00 a.m. with the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole at Oke Agogo, Akinmorin, in Afijio Local Government Area after which, Christian prayers would be held in honour of the late monarch before commissioning another solar-powered borehole.

Additionally, Muslim prayers are scheduled to also follow at 10:30 a.m. in Kosobo, Oyo East Local Government Area, just before another solar-powered borehole project will be inaugurated.

Similarly, the programme will continue at 11:30 a.m. with the commissioning of an additional borehole at Ile Baba, Iseke, in Oyo West Local Government Area, while the final activity of the day is expected to take place at 1:00 p.m. in Sokuro, Atiba Local Government Area.

Adeyemi further revealed that the remembrance activities are designed to honour the legacy of the late monarch through community development initiatives and interfaith prayers.
