LAWMA seals Alaba market over environmental sanitation offences

Officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit, have sealed the Alaba International Market, Ojo, in the early hours of Monday (Today).
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed in a post on his X handle (formerly twitter).

According to Wahab, the market was sealed for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills and gross environmental sanitation offences.

WesternPost had reported that some markets were shutdown yesterday with the trade fair Complex, in Ojo local government area by LAWMA and other environmental enforcement agencies, over environmental infractions.
