Lawmaker accuses Ondo Assembly leadership of moral decay, greed

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Komolafe, representing Ifedore Constituency, has accused the leadership of the Assembly of corruption, greed, and moral decay.
In a statement titled “An Imposed Bad Leadership in Ondo State House of Assembly: A Tragic Derailment of Purpose and a Call for Divine Conscience,” Komolafe alleged that the Assembly had derailed from its core legislative responsibilities and become “a theatre of deceit and oppression” rather than the conscience of the people.
He lamented that the institution, which should serve as a beacon of hope for citizens, had “become a shadow of its purpose”
Citing biblical references, the lawmaker warned that the Assembly leadership risked divine judgment for its alleged misdeeds, declaring: “When the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn; pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Komolafe likened the situation in the Assembly to past dictatorial regimes, including those of Adolf Hitler, General Sani Abacha, and S.L. Akintola, asserting that “no corrupt regime escapes divine retribution.”
He further identified five inevitable consequences of bad leadership — divine punishment, downfall, judgment, suffering of the people, and the eventual collapse of arrogant power.
