Lawmaker commends President Tinubu for scrapping Ministry of Sports

Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decision to scrap the Ministry of Sports and replace it with the National Sports Commission (NSC).
President Tinubu announced on Wednesday that the Ministry of Sports Development will no longer exist, and all its roles will now be performed by the National Sports Commission.
According to Honourable Kabiru Amadu, who represents the Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency of Zamfara State in the House of Representatives, the President’s decision is a welcome development and has the full support of the National Assembly.
“I think Mr. President should be highly commended for this bold decision to return the sports sector to a commission,” he said.
“This has always been the position of the House Committee on Sports—that a Sports Commission is what the country needs for the effective growth of the sector.”
“Mr. President has spoken the minds of many sports stakeholders, and we hope this is the beginning of a new chapter that will enhance the development of our sports.”
“The advantages of having a Sports Commission cannot be overemphasized, as it will pave the way for the right professionals to manage the sports sector.”
