The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has praised US President Donald Trump for ending policies that protect Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) rights, citing the need to restore the “sanctity of humanity.”
The monarch drummed up support for the order, assuring that he would promote the new policy.
Trump’s executive order recognizes only two sexes—male and female—and bans transgender individuals from serving in the US military. The US President also stated that government funds would not be used to promote gender identity and that a waiver for life-saving HIV care and treatment would not be applied to gay and bisexual men or transgender women accessing preventive medicine.
Oba Akanbi, in a statement by his press secretary, Alli Ibrahim, applauded Trump’s move, stating that it would restore moral trust in the US and promote “sound moral standards.”
He faulted previous policies supporting homosexuality, arguing that they challenged natural and fundamental realities. He added that an individual’s natural sexual orientation should be a source of pride.
The statement read in part: “The moral consciousness of the world is raised by the suspension of policies protecting LGBT rights and by recognizing only two sexes—male and female. Ending such policies deserves the commendation of every reasonable individual in support of sound moral standards.
“The LGBT executive orders must receive every necessary support to prevail. I have learned that some pro-LGBT organizations are instituting legal action. They will fail. It is a contest between morality and immorality.
“As a natural Paramount Ruler with authority and a notable voice, I drum up my support for the order and will promote the new policy in respect of human honor and dignity.”
