Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has urged members of the 1975 set of Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi-Akoko (AKOGRAMS), to view life’s challenges as temporary and surmountable.

Aregbesola made the call on Saturday during the golden jubilee celebration of the 1975 set, held at the school premises in Arigidi-Akoko, Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The former minister, who is also a member of the 1975 set, expressed delight at the transformation of the school over the years and the opportunity to reunite with old classmates.

“Each time I reflect on the journey of the past 50 years, I appreciate more deeply the time I spent here. It remains the most important period in my life,” he said.

“Though I rarely see most of you except at events like this, rest assured that you’re always in my thoughts. My memories with you are everlasting,” he added.

Aregbesola acknowledged that many might be dealing with health, financial, or family challenges, but encouraged his peers to face such issues with courage, noting that “challenges are temporary.”

Earlier in his remarks, President of the 1975 set, Mr. Olaitan Ayeni, commended members of the alumni for their achievements and called for continued unity and collaboration.

Represented by the National President of AKOGRAMS Old Students Association, Mrs. Mojisola Ajayi, Ayeni noted that the set has produced professors, medical doctors, PhD holders, seasoned politicians, permanent secretaries, teachers, civil servants, and entrepreneurs.
