Lottery Trust Fund donates Medical equipment to Ijebu Jesa General Hospital
The Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, has commissioned vital medical equipment at the Ijebu Jesa General Hospital in Osun State.
The presentation took place with the attendance of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who welcomed Adeyanju and expressed appreciation for the NLTF’s contributions to the state’s health sector.
During the event, Adeyanju acknowledged President Bola Tinubu for appointing him to lead the NLTF and praised the president’s dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians, particularly in healthcare. He highlighted the agency’s ongoing projects in Osun State, which include the distribution of sports equipment to 62 primary schools and first aid supplies to nine public schools since 2017.
The newly commissioned medical equipment includes:
- 1 X-Ray Mobile Machine
- 4 Infant Incubators
- 3 Haematocrit Centrifuges
- 10 Suction Machines
- 5 Autoclaves
- 3 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)
- 2 Electrophoretic Tanks/Machines
- 2 Physiotherapy Equipment
- 2 ENT Diagnostic Sets
- 10 Sphygmomanometers (Digital and Manual)
- 3 Caesarean Section Instruments
Adeyanju urged the community to take ownership of the equipment and utilize it responsibly for the benefit of local residents. He also announced that the NLTF’s Monitoring and Evaluation team would be visiting all completed projects for feedback and encouraged community members to share their suggestions.
Praising President Tinubu’s efforts to bolster the healthcare sector, Adeyanju expressed hope for continued improvements in the community’s health services.
Governor Adeleke, in his remarks, commended the NLTF for its impactful intervention in Osun State’s health sector. “I am pleased to host the Executive Secretary and his team at the Government House,” he stated. “This support will significantly benefit our health sector, and we appreciate your efforts.”
The governor emphasized his awareness of the NLTF’s various initiatives in the state and expressed interest in further collaboration. “We seek partnership with your agency to support our efforts in developing the state,” he remarked.
Highlighting Osun State’s rich cultural heritage, Governor Adeleke also called for NLTF’s support in promoting it, noting, “Osun State has great cultural heritage, which can be supported by your agency.”
High Chief Oladele Fasewu, the Odofin of Ijebu Ijesa and representative of the paramount ruler, expressed gratitude for the generous donation. “The hospital, built by our community, has been greatly enhanced by this gesture,” he said.
He also appealed for government support in providing necessary personnel to manage the hospital effectively to maximize the benefits of the new equipment.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, and stakeholders from the healthcare sector, indicating the importance of this milestone for the community.
The medical equipment provided by the NLTF is expected to significantly improve healthcare services in Ijebu Jesa and surrounding areas.
